IGNORANCE IS A DISEASE: CLEAR FACTS ON MYTHS AND MISCONCEPTION ON HORMONAL IMBALANCE
It is sad to say that ignorance has eaten deep into our
living environments to the extent of taking over some people’s lives, even when
being dragged out of it by education, information and improved technology. They
are being blind folded by the scarf of ignorance. You can imagine that someone
will be sick and dying, instead of going to the hospital to see a doctor, would
rather prefer to go to a native or herbal man or woman for some heaven knows
concoction. The worst of it is that even some people that actually went to
school are guilty of indulging in such practices. And when being asked why they’d prefer to go
to herbal people instead of hospital, they’d tell you that it is poverty, but
actually it is not. Because if you analyse how much these herbal men and women
charge their clients, you will realize that hospital will not charge them one
quarter of it, and they will still pay and at the same time get brain washed on
how the ill health condition is not something the hospital can take care of.
This is a case of a young girl having an issue of hormonal
imbalance. Let us have a touch of what hormone is and hormonal imbalance too.
Hormones are chemicals that are produced by glands in the
endocrine system. They are important for regulating most major bodily
processes. Hormones can help regulate helps to regulate: metabolism, heart
rate, sleep cycle, reproductive cycles’ sexual functions, general growth and
development’ mood and stress level, body temperature.
Hormonal imbalance occurs when there is too much or too
little of hormone in the blood stream.
Everyone will experience natural periods of hormonal
imbalance or fluctuations at particular points in their life. Hormonal imbalances
can also occur when the endocrine glands are not functioning properly.

This young girl who had been frustrated by these herbal
people finally visited a hospital to make complains about her irregular
menstrual period, which comes about 3 to 4 times only in a year (polycistic
ovarian syndrome which may be caused by stress, intense exercise, weight loss
or diet and hormonal imbalance. Girls with this condition often have acne,
excess hair growth or weight problems). She said it has been going on right
from her teen age till present. She had told her mom and instead of her mom to
take her to the hospital, to find out what exactly caused the problem, she took
her to a herbal woman. Who had been giving her concoction for years in order to
correct the problem yet to no avail and also kept on discouraging her from
going to the hospital.
This young girl’s issue initially was supposed to be a mild
hormonal imbalance which could have been corrected with simple treatment but
now that the concoction she had been taking for years has jeopardized the
health of her organs, it has compounded the whole issue (quite a pity).
FROM THE TABLE OF HE GOOD NURSE
·
Please my dear friends in Christ, hospital
should be the first place to come to your imagination whenever you fall sick.
So that health professionals could arrest the situation while it could be
arrested before it becomes resistance to arrest.
·
Seek medical attention to avoid complication and
for positive outcome for prevention is better than cure.
·
Please let us join hands and cure this disease
called ignorance by talking to people well-grounded in the field concerning our
troubles.
