The extent and the rate at which our people abuse and misuse drugs is quite pitiful, Imagine that a person is being treated with a particular class of antibiotics for a particular type of ailment, when he or she recovers, the person will try everything possible to know the name of that particular drug in order to prescribe it to another person who has similar signs of the disease he or she was treated of.  Even if that person’s illness is caused by virus. Another one is after the day to day activities, some people will buy antibiotics on their way home in order to take it at night before sleeping, and when you ask them what the drug is for, they will tell you it helps them a lot with strength. A girl came to the hospital with the history of missed period, and was asked to do a pregnancy test which she bluntly said that she was not pregnant and that she was sure of that but will still do the test just  to clear the doubt. She did the test after all, and when the result came out it was positive. Bacterial infections are of different types, and the type of antibiotic used to treat an infection caused by a particular bacterium might not be the one to treat another infection caused by another bacterium.
·         Secondly, antibiotics have their own must follow regimen, which if you do not adhere to, will cause you more harm than good. Also you cannot treat viral infection with antibiotics, please visit hospitals for proper treatment and guidance.
·         Please and please, it is only a professional medical personnel that has the right to prescribe antibiotics, there for you as a non-medical personnel have no right to take antibiotics indiscriminately for the sake of your health please. 
·         Lastly antibiotic is not and will never be a contraceptive drug, please visit hospitals, health centers for proper guidance please.
