DO YOU KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE USE (TIN) TOMATOES PASTE AS A BLOOD BOOSTER
It baffles me that in
this era of growing technology and communication, the era where people are
growing and becoming informed on different areas of life and discipline, some
people have refused to move forward and chose to remain in their ignorant even when
tried to be dragged out of it. It is a thing to be ashamed of that here in
Nigeria, such practices of using Tin tomatoes to boost blood because it is
thick and red in colour. It is rampant and being proudly said by people up to
the point of arguing it out with medical personnel. In this country, people
carry out practices that are very harmful to health without even making
research about the effect of their actions. People believe that those practices
worked for their grandparents, parents and even their siblings in an emergency
situation.
I was in a hospital, and got a call from a friend who was
asking me what to do about her blood level, that she was told in the hospital
that her blood level is low, but before I could even give her an answer, a
patient relative immediately butt in and said “tell her to mix tin tomatoes and
malt and drink it morning afternoon and night, it works like magic, her blood
level will go up immediately”
Another day I was out to a friend’s house, a neighbor came
out from the room with a mixture he is drinking and asked us to join him, that
he is boosting his blood level and I asked what sort of mixture is that and he
said tin tomato and milk and I asked why tin tomato and he said because it is
thick and red and that their father used to give the mixture to them when they
were small.
FROM THE GOOD NURSE TABLE
Please tin tomato is NOT a blood booster, the major
ingredients used to produce tin tomato are modified corn starch, sugars etc.
and the redness is colour PLEASE!!!
Rather than using it, if you do not intend to use drugs, why
not go for fresh tomatoes, mix it with other vegetables like spinach, pumpkin,
Broccoli etc. In fact (fruits and vegetables) there are so many of them. Please
be guided well and ask questions and make research before delving into some
practices.
