PEOPLE THAT STUDIED HEALTH RELATED COURSES SOMETIMES CAUSE MORE TROUBLE FOR THE SICK ONES AT HOME
Sometimes, the cause of death of some people is not the
sickness itself but the effect of drugs wrongly prescribed to these patients by
our brothers and sisters who studied health related courses. And these people
know very well that referral to hospital is one of the best practices that
helps to save life. Some of these our brethren that studied these health
related courses involve themselves in this act so much in other to be called
doctors or to take the glory of knowing what he or she studied in school by
their friends, neighbours, family and people around. One of the rules that
guide good practice, is’ KNOW YOUR LIMIT AND PLAY WITHIN IT’
A young boy was brought to the hospital almost dead, the
sister explained that he had been sick at home for days and that she had been
managing him at home. She brought out some packs of drugs she had given him. She
also explained some manifestations by the boy prior to when he was brought to
the hospital. She was asked why she did not bring him to the hospital for
proper management and she said that she is a health personnel therefore she
felt she could manage him at home knowing his diagnosis after lab
investigation. After going through the
drugs she used to treat the brother at home, it was confirmed that the
manifestations she talked about the boy was due to drug reaction. And before
anything could be done at that instant, the boy had already given up the ghost
because he reacted to those drugs for a long time. Now who is responsible for
the boy’s death? Is it the sickness itself or the sister?

I know that if we did not show our friends,
family and neighbour the stuff we are made of, no one will know. But then don’t
you think if that person is referred to the hospital and is well taken care of
and the person survives, it will be a credit to you. Better still find a hospital and attach yourself
so that you can show case this talent of yours with proper guidance.
·
Imagine that the boy was treated in the hospital
with those drugs, if he starts manifesting those reaction symptoms, something
would have been done immediately to remedy the situation and the boy wont had
to suffer what he suffered and he could have been saved.

Please let us be properly guided in our
practices as health practioners.
Thanks for reminding us that we should not exceed our limit in practice.
